What is the Emergent Research Center?
The Emergent Research Center deals with technologies that involve the application of nanotechnology to add new functions to various materials: [1] Nafitec®, a functional inorganic nanoparticle immobilization technology; [2] Cufitec®, an antiviral and antibacterial technology; and [3] catalyst technology. With these three core technologies as our pillars, we conduct various research and development activities in collaboration with universities and research facilities to realize innovation.
Based on the Nisshin Seifun Group's corporate philosophy of "contributing to a healthy and fruitful life for all," we are promoting research and development aimed at creating new value that will lead to solutions to social issues and the creation of a sustainable society.
Nafitec® and its wide-ranging applications
Developed by NBC Meshtec, Nafitec® is a technology that enables the uniform immobilization of functional inorganic nanoparticles even on materials with complex shapes such as mesh.
Clog-resistant sieve screens
Water-repellent mesh to prevent water and dirt from entering the interior of devices
Dust and debris-resistant, easy-to-clean nets for window screens
As such, each effect of the technology can be used for a variety of products.
Technology that is effective against invisible threats such as viruses and bacteria
Cufitec® is an antiviral and antibacterial technology designed to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment against invisible threats such as viruses and bacteria.
We are working to develop products that work against various microorganisms (viruses and bacteria), work quickly (reduces numbers in a short time), and work well (do not spread viruses and bacteria).
We also have a virus lab equipped with microbiological testing facilities and a wealth of analytical instruments, and provide active technical support for everything from inquiries to commercialization.

The environmentally friendly nanoparticle catalysts we have developed will play an important role as companies step up their environmental measures to contribute to the SDGs.
