Cufitec™ antiviral and antibacterial technology
Effectiveness and Safety
cufitecEffectiveness and safety of Cufitec™
Cufitec™ has been tested for performance against a variety of microorganisms.
We have confirmed the performance* of various Cufitec™ products and material forms, such as non-woven fabrics, films, and powders, against enveloped viruses (6 types, 23 strains), non-enveloped viruses (3 types, 5 strains), gram-negative bacteria (9 types), and gram-positive bacteria (5 types).
We have also confirmed the various safety features of monovalent copper compound nanoparticles so that our customers can use them with confidence.
*Antiviral and antibacterial performance is judged based on a reduction of 99.9% or more in 1 hour.
Effectiveness of Cufitec™
Virus
Methods
A suspension of monovalent copper compound nanoparticles and a virus solution were mixed to examine the virus infectivity titer after 10 minutes using the plaque method.
*NBC Meshtec's proprietary in-house testing
Results
Enveloped virus (left graph)
The virus infectivity titer was reduced by more than 99.99% in 10 minutes compared to the additive-free solution (detection limit).
Non-enveloped virus (right graph)
The virus infectivity titer was reduced by more than 99.9% in 10 minutes compared to the additive-free solution (detection limit).
Bacteria
Methods
A suspension of monovalent copper compound nanoparticles and a bacterial solution were mixed to examine the viable bacteria count after 10 or 30 minutes using the mixed plate culture method (colony method).
*NBC Meshtec's proprietary in-house testing
Results
Gram-negative bacteria (left graph)
The viable bacteria count was reduced by more than 99.99% in 10 minutes compared to the additive-free solution (detection limit).
Gram-positive bacteria (right graph)
The viable bacteria count was reduced by more than 99.99% in 30 minutes compared to the additive-free solution (detection limit).
