Blending into resin

cufitec

Cufitec™ treatment method: Blending into resin

By blending monovalent copper compound nanoparticles into resin, highly functional resin products with antiviral and antibacterial performance can be produced.
Applicable to films, molded products, fibers, etc.

Blending monovalent copper compound nanoparticles into synthetic resin

Features

- Reduces certain viruses and bacteria adhering to resin surfaces.
- Sustained functionality can be expected even in applications where abrasion resistance is required.

- Non-woven fabrics
- Molded products, etc.

Antiviral performance (prototype example)

Methods

A virus solution of enveloped or non-enveloped virus was dropped on a polypropylene (PP) film blended with monovalent copper compound nanoparticles to examine the virus infectivity titer after 3 hours of contact time using the plaque method. *In-house test conducted in accordance with ISO 21702 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of enveloped virus (left graph) and non-enveloped virus (right graph), the virus infectivity titer was reduced by more than 99% in 3 hours compared to the additive-free product.

Antibacterial performance (prototype example)

Methods

A gram-negative or gram-positive bacteria solution was dropped on a polypropylene (PP) film blended with monovalent copper compound nanoparticles to examine the viable bacteria count after 2 hours of contact time using the mixed plate culture method (colony method). *In-house test conducted in accordance with JIS Z 2801 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of gram-negative bacteria (left graph) and gram-positive bacteria (right graph), the viable bacteria count was reduced by more than 99.99% in 2 hours compared to the additive-free product (detection limit).
