Mixing into liquid

cufitec

Cufitec™ treatment method: Mixing into liquid

Monovalent copper compound nanoparticles can be mixed into paints, inks, coatings, alcohol formulations (such as disinfectant ethanol), and cleaning agents.

Mixing monovalent copper compound nanoparticles into paints, alcohol, or other liquids

Features

- Can be used as an additive in paints and coatings.
- Both solvent and non-solvent are available.
- Can also be used for liquid formulation, cleaning agents, etc.

- Antibacterial deodorizing, etc.

Performance (prototype example)

Example of application to paints

Cufitec™ Liquid Dispersion can be added to paints to provide antiviral and antibacterial performance.

Antiviral performance

Methods

A virus solution of enveloped or non-enveloped virus was dropped on a Cufitec™-treated polyester (PET) film (coated with Cufitec™ Liquid Dispersion) to examine the virus infectivity titer after 60 minutes of contact time using the plaque method. *In-house test conducted in accordance with ISO 21702 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of enveloped virus (left graph) and non-enveloped virus (right graph), the virus infectivity titer was reduced by more than 99.9% in 60 minutes compared to the untreated product (detection limit).

Antimicrobial performance

Methods

A gram-negative or gram-positive bacteria solution was dropped on a Cufitec™-treated polyester (PET) film (coated with Cufitec™ Liquid Dispersion) to examine the viable bacteria count after 30 minutes of contact time using the mixed plate culture method (colony method). *In-house test conducted in accordance with JIS Z 2801 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of gram-negative bacteria (left graph) and gram-positive bacteria (right graph), the viable bacteria count was reduced by more than 99.99% in 30 minutes compared to the untreated product (detection limit).

Example of application to alcohol formulation

Adding Cufitec™ Alcohol Formulation to disinfectant alcohol makes the formulation effective against non-enveloped viruses.

Cufitec™ particles remain on the sprayed surface, so the effect lasts even after the alcohol has volatilized.

Virus and bacteria removal performance

Methods

Cufitec™ Alcohol Formulation and a non-enveloped virus solution or gram-negative bacteria solution were mixed to examine the virus infectivity titer and the viable bacteria count after 1 minute. *In-house testing based on EN 14476

Durability of effects

Methods

A stainless steel plate was coated with Cufitec™ Alcohol Formulation, allowed to dry thoroughly, and then a non-enveloped virus solution or gram-negative bacteria solution was dropped on it to examine the virus infectivity titer after 30 minutes or viable bacteria count after 60 minutes. *In-house test conducted in accordance with ISO 21702 or JIS Z 2801 with only the contact time changed
