Coating on material

cufitec

Cufitec™ treatment method: Coating on material

By coating monovalent copper compound nanoparticles on the surface of materials, highly functional products with antiviral and antibacterial properties can be created.

[1] Non-woven fabrics

Monovalent copper compound nanoparticles are immobilized to fiber materials.

Features

- Reduces certain viruses on fiber surfaces
- Inhibits the growth of certain bacteria on fiber surfaces

Application examples

- Filters
- Masks
- Environmental cleaning wipes
- Counter cloths
- Other hygiene-related products, etc.

Antiviral performance (prototype example)

Methods

A virus solution of enveloped or non-enveloped virus was dropped on a Cufitec™-treated rayon non-woven fabric to examine the virus infectivity titer after 15 minutes of contact time using the plaque method. *In-house test conducted in accordance with JIS L 1922 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of enveloped virus (left graph) and non-enveloped virus (right graph), the virus infectivity titer was reduced by more than 99.9% in 15 minutes compared to the standard cloth or untreated product (detection limit).

Antibacterial performance (prototype example)

Methods

A gram-negative or gram-positive bacterial solution was dropped on a Cufitec™-treated rayon non-woven fabric to examine the viable bacteria count after minutes of contact time using the mixed plate culture method (colony method). *In-house test conducted in accordance with JIS L 1902 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of gram-negative bacteria (left graph) and gram-positive bacteria (right graph), the viable bacteria count was reduced by more than 99.99% in 15 minutes compared to the standard cloth (detection limit).

[2] Films

Monovalent copper compound nanoparticles are coated on film materials.

Features

Photograph of a roll of film and illustration of Cufitec particles fixed to the surface of the material.

- Can reduce the number of viruses and bacteria adhering to the film surface in a short time
- Can be processed on a variety of materials

Application examples

- Protective film for touch panels
- Decorative film for building materials
- Cover for door handles
- Handrail cover, etc.

Antiviral performance (prototype example)

Methods

A virus solution of enveloped or non-enveloped virus was dropped on a Cufitec™-treated polyester (PET) film to examine the virus infectivity titer after 60 minutes of contact time using the plaque method. *In-house test conducted in accordance with ISO 21702 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of enveloped virus (left graph) and non-enveloped virus (right graph), the virus infectivity titer was reduced by more than 99.9% in 60 minutes compared to the untreated product (detection limit).

Antibacterial performance (prototype example)

Methods

A gram-negative or gram-positive bacteria solution was dropped on a Cufitec™-treated polyester (PET) film to examine the viable bacteria count after 30 minutes of contact time using the mixed plate culture method (colony method).
*In-house test conducted in accordance with JIS Z 2801 with only the contact time changed

Results

In both cases of gram-negative bacteria (left graph) and gram-positive bacteria (right graph), the viable bacteria count was reduced by more than 99.99% in 30 minutes compared to the untreated product (detection limit).
